Ford Helps Louisville Families by Donating a New Delivery Truck, SPP Provides Public Relations Support

On November 22, 2011, Ford Motor Company helped make the holiday season a little brighter for families in Louisville, Kentucky by donating a $70,000 F-550 refrigeration truck to the Dare to Care Food Bank. The food bank plans to use the truck to deliver a portion of the 12 million meals they provide to families each year. SPP had the honor of providing public relations support, from drafting press materials and conducting outreach to fielding questions from the media, for this heartfelt story. The event was picked up by nearly every outlet, from print to television, in Louisville. Here is the story from the Lousiville Courier-Journal:

Over 50 people attended the ceremonial first unloading of the truck, including employees from Ford's Louisville Assembly Plant and Kentucky Truck Plant. Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer spoke to the crowd and highlighted the importance Ford has in the local community.
