SPP Public Relations generates 3.7 million impressions for Sprite event

Recently, SPP’s Public Relations team worked with the Coca-Cola Company in providing community outreach, event coordination, and media relations for a Sprite Spark Parks Project in Highland Park, Michigan. The event, a ribbon cutting unveiling a unique renovation of Highland Park High School’s outdoor basketball courts, teamed up Sprite and the Detroit Pistons to deliver a $40,000 court refresh.

More than 200 students and members of the community attended the ribbon cutting, which generated both national and international media coverage and resulted in more than 3.7 million impressions. Here is an article written by the British newspaper, Daily Mail:

Detroit Pistons Head Coach Lawrence Frank, along with players from his team, led a Sprite-Pistons drill session with the Highland Park High School basketball team. Several community leaders attended, including Highland Park Mayor Hubert Yopp who applauded the Coca-Cola Company’s commitment to the local community. Representatives from Congressman Hansen Clarke’s office, Congressman John Conyers’ office, and the Michigan State Board of Education were also in attendance.

The SPP Public Relations team greatly enjoyed working with the Coca-Cola Company and Sprite Spark Parks Project in making this event so successful—from the high level of community attendance to the attention given by the media in covering this significant contribution to Highland Parks.
