SPP Supports Effort to Honor and Remember

Former SPP employee Brian Stewart has been making an impact for a special community he belongs to, veterans. Spc. Stewart has been advocating for a special “Honor and Remember Flag” to be recognized in Ohio, to draw attention to those who have lost their lives in service. Gongwer Ohio reports:

Iraq War veteran Brian Stewart, member of The Ohio Fallen Heroes Memorial organization, said the Honor & Remember flag would be most appropriate considering the enormous sacrifices made by Ohio service members since 9/11, the focus of the Memorial located in Sunbury. He said the Memorial honors more than 250 soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines from Ohio who have given their lives in the line of duty since September 11, 2001. He noted that each year, on the Saturday nearest 9/11, the Fallen Heroes Memorial organization holds a ceremony for Gold Star families showing them that they loved ones would never be forgotten.

Mr. Stewart said his organization feels the adoption of the resolution designating the Honor and Remember flag as Ohio's official emblem would demonstrate a unified commitment to ensure that the sacrifices of Ohio's service members are so honored and remembered.

SPP is proud to continue supporting past employees’ efforts like Brian’s, and continues to support the military men and women of the United States.
